9 March, 2020 (Brussels). The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) has today announced that its 2020 Annual Meetings event, scheduled to take place in Brussels from 19-20 March 2020 will not go ahead as planned following the escalation of the Coronavirus outbreak in Europe
The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives here in Belgium and across the world, with many of our participants facing travel restrictions.
We have been following government guidelines and working with rolling advice from the public health authorities and other organisations. So it is with reluctance that we have taken the decision not to go ahead with this year’s event as planned. This includes the AMAC Convention (19 March) and the Annual General Meeting (20 March).
EBAA is under a legal obligation to hold an annual General Assembly; however, these statutory proceedings can be facilitated through other means than a face-to-face meeting. Therefore a General Assembly teleconference is being prepared to accommodate these legal requirements.
This General Assembly teleconference will take place as originally planned on Friday 20 March 2020 at 11 am CET. All details, materials and further instructions to enable our members to join and vote during this special teleconference will be shared in due course.
For participants who have made room bookings at the Sofitel Europe for the event, there is a possibility to obtain a refund for your stay under certain conditions. For more information, please contact Justine Biren at jbiren@ebaa.org.
When the situation improves, we will explore the feasibility of rescheduling another meeting for our members and associate members later this year. Any developments will be communicated as soon as possible.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding as we work through these exceptional circumstances.
