How can standards, local business services and technology solutions be used as powerful tools on business’ path to net-zero? On 6 November, do not miss the special event co-organised in the framework of COP26 by BusinessEurope, CEN, CENELEC and EUROCHAMBRES!

Under the title “The role of policy framework, standards & support tools for businesses to become climate-neutral”, the event will be an opportunity to discuss the most powerful tools business can use on the path to net zero emissions. A series of high-level speakers from industry, the UNFCCC and the European Commission will present their recommendations to the business community and exchange on the support needed to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This event will further elaborate on the expectations of business sectors with regards to the outcome of the COP26 negotiations. Furthermore, the discussion will focus on how innovative companies can contribute to maintaining and reinforcing Europe’s  status as a climate leader, by turning ambition into action and deliver on the commitments under the Paris Agreement.

The conference is part of more than 100 side events hosted by the European Commission in the framework of COP26. Starting from this weekend and until 12 November, people from all around the world will gather in Glasgow, in person or virtually, to create constructive dialogues that build upon the four goals of this year’s conference: 1) Secure global net zero and keep 1.5 degrees within reach, 2) urgently adapt to protect communities and natural habitats, 3) mobilise finance, and 4) work together to deliver.

Due to the continuing Covid-related restrictions, the event will be set up in a hybrid format: it will take place live in Brussels from 15.30 to 16.30 (Brussels time) – where a limited number of in-person attendees will be admitted - and broadcast live online. The conference, as well as all other side events, will also be livestreamed in Glasgow.

More information, together with the full programme of the event and instructions on how to participate, can be found at this link.
