Brussels, 15 May 2009: Paolo Falcioni has been appointed Vice Director General of CECED, the European Committee of Domestic Appliance Manufacturers.
He brings almost 20 years of experience with national and international technical and policy-making bodies in the industrial sector to this newly created position. Prior to joining CECED, Mr. Falcioni was the European Affairs Manager for Indesit Company.
Mr. Falcioni, who is Italian, has an Electric Engineering degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Ancona (Italy). He is fluent in Italian and English.
Founded in 1958, CECED’s main objective is to represent and defend European Industry interests. It provides a forum for the industry to reach consensus on issues of common interest such as product/process standardisation and regulatory initiatives. CECED acts as a dialogue partner with the EU's political and regulatory institutions and also interacts with the media, interested parties and non-governmental organisations representing different partisanships (including consumers and environmental groups). This consensus-building role can also lead to concrete commitments or agreements within the industry that can become the basis for EU policy initiatives.
