Baltic Bureau meeting: GUE/NGL holds special session in Riga

A delegation of GUE/NGL MEPs will gather in Riga tomorrow for a special meeting in the Latvian capital.
GUE/NGL MEP Alfreds Rubiks, the only Latvian member of the Group, and GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer will open the meeting, whose agenda includes how Latvia has tackled the crisis, the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU, issues surrounding the introduction of the Euro in Latvia, and Riga's naming as a 2014 Capital of Culture.
Bank of Latvia President Ilmars Rimsevics, Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs, and Advisor to Latvian Economics Minister Ilona Platonova are just a few of the guest speakers who will join GUE/NGL MEPs at the two-day event in the Radisson Blu Daugava Hotel.
