Awareness campaign on marine pollution and media tour successfully conducted within the PEPSEA Interreg project

Campaign for raising awareness of marine pollution among the local population was held in the Municipality of Sali as a part of the project "PEPSEA - Protection of closed parts of the sea in the Adriatic from pollution.
The campaign was conducted on Wednesday, February 23rd 2022, organized by the Zadar County Development Agency ZADRA NOVA. On the same day, a media tour for journalists was organized in the port of Sali, where equipment purchased with funds from the PEPSEA project was presented.
As part of the project, equipment was procured for preventive, interventional and remedial action in the event of sudden marine pollution in the Zadar County.
The participants were greeted by Martina Vukašina, Head of the Department for the Implementation of Interregional and Transnational Cooperation Projects at the Agency ZADRA NOVA, and PEPSEA project manager Mia Perica, who told a bit more about the project itself.
The aim of the PEPSEA project is to increase the level of protection of the sea and coast from pollution from ships, platforms and land-based sources of pollution and to protect the way of life of the population along the Adriatic coast in order to preserve the biodiversity of the Adriatic region.
In addition to the leading partner, the ZADRA NOVA Agency, the project partners are: Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca, Adriatic Educational and Research Center for Response to Sudden Marine Pollution - ATRAC, Split-Dalmatia County, Šibenik-Knin County, Agenzia regionale per la Protezione dell'Ambien del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Ente Parco Regionale Veneto del Delta del Po i Camera di Commercio di Bari. The PEPSEA project with a total value of EUR 2.9 million is co-financed through the Italy-Croatia Cross-Border Cooperation Program. The end of the project is June 30th, 2022.
