Athens, 22 June 2016: As part of the 26th ACI EUROPE Annual Assembly and Congress entitled “There is nothing permanet except change* - towards a radical remodelling of passenger and airline customer relationships” taking place this week, the General Assembly re-elected Augustin de Romanet, President & CEO, Aéroports de Paris S.A.– Groupe ADP for a second term as President of the airports trade body.

Mr de Romanet said “I would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in me. It is a great honour to be re-elected to chair ACI EUROPE. There is still a lot of work ahead of us to make European aviation and, in particular, European airports, an asset to foster the European economy.

In that exciting context, I will keep on doing my best to be available, to guide the Board and the Association, to educate decision makers and to defend the interests of our industry. My priority at all times will be to continue to ensure that we defend the collective interests of all our members, whatever their size or location. I will also work to ensure greater association with our World Business Partners.

Beyond this, I will strive to strengthen industry cooperation with airlines, ANSPs and other stakeholders: experience has shown that we are far more effective when we work in harmony with other stakeholders in the industry. In my opinion however, such harmony can only be achieved when airports are treated and fully recognised as businesses in their own right.”

During this year’s General Assembly, Thomas Woldbye, CEO, Copenhagen Airports was also appointed to the Board for a first mandate.

In addition, Dag Falk-Petersen, CEO of Avinor AS; Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airports; Dr Michael Kerkloh President & CEO of Flughafen Munchen GmBH; Nicolas Notebaert, President of Aéroports du Grand Ouest & VINCI Airports and Kevin Toland, CEO of daa, were all reappointed to the Board for a second term.
