"The arrest of Goran Hadžić is good news for international justice and I hope will bring relief to all those that were affected by the war in Croatia especially in Vukovar and Eastern Slavonia.

I welcome Serbia's will to face its past and to implement the rule of law in the country. The EU has followed events in Serbia with great attention and we see this as a positive move.

The EPP Group welcomes that with the arrest of Hadžić, Serbia has shown it is firmly committed to being anchored within European structures", said Joseph Daul MEP, Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, commenting on the arrest of Goran Hadžić, the last remaining fugitive sought by the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague.
