Do you care about the environment? Do you care about future generations?

The world is already facing the challenge of climate change and doing nothing about it is not an option.

But, how do we move towards a green economy? As progressives, we want to harness the potential of this transition to foster growth, social progress and environmental sustainability. As Europeans, we want to lead this transition.

These are some of the questions that we will discuss in Copenhagen at the conference ”Leading change – European progressives for green growth and climate action”, on 11 October, co-organised by the PES and the Danish Social Democratic Party (SD).

The discussion will take place ahead of the next United Nations climate change conference (COP22), to be hosted in Marrakech from 7 to 18 November, where the world will address the implementation of the goals set in the first universal climate change accord, achieved in Paris last year. The Paris Agreement stipulates the world community’s commitment to limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius, or even 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Our President Sergei Stanishev will attend the conference, together with the SD President Mette Frederiksen and Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, former PES President and Danish Prime Minister.

As European Socialists and Democrats, we are convinced that having stricter climate regulation is not only a duty, but also an opportunity to industries and businesses.

The time to act is now! Join us at the conference!
