ACCA is celebrating its first Connections Day (Thursday 12 September), bringing together its members, future members, stakeholders and partners around the world with a host of events to highlight the importance of connectivity.

The day celebrates ACCA’s global connections by showing the importance of partnerships, revealing how a joined-up approach supports the accountancy profession the world needs.

It all begins with the power of connections virtual conference. Sessions include coaching to power performance, how connections are building the belt and road, support on developing an ACCA network and a thought leadership session from ACCA’s Professional Insights team.

Connections Day will be marked by the launch of ACCA’s Innovation in Public Finance report, setting out how a radical approach in public sector finance is needed for the future.

The day’s centrepiece sees the launch of an ACCA Connections mosaic – a giant collaborative piece of online artwork, made up of more than 10,000 photos submitted by ACCA’s global network.

To highlight technology’s role in staying connected, ACCA is bidding to create the largest connections thread across multiple social media channels, and is encouraging users to engage with #PowerOfConnections throughout the day.

Helen Brand, chief executive of ACCA, says: ‘Our Connections Day marks the importance of ACCA’s connected global network, showcasing that access to a network of support and resources is key to development.

‘Whether its participating in the virtual conference sessions, contributing to the ACCA social media threads or engaging with the Innovation in Public Sector Finance report, all interactions aim to highlight the strength of a connected global profession, where individuals and organisations – large and small - all have a key role to play. Connections move the world forward, and businesses thrive through the alliances that we make.’

ACCA is encouraging members and future members across LinkedIn and Facebook to tag their ACCA connections throughout the day to highlight the strength of a connected global profession using the hashtag #powerofconnections.
