Professional body welcomes increase in Living Wage rates announced during Living Wage Week

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) attended a parliamentary reception to celebrate the Living Wage, ahead of Living Wage Week which began yesterday (6 November).

The reception brought together a network of employers, parliamentarians and public figures that all support the voluntary movement for a Living Wage based on the cost of living.

New increased rates for the Living Wage have been announced, and as part of a movement of over 3,500 employers who voluntarily opt-in to paying the real Living Wage, ACCA is happy that it meets these commitments.

Michelle Shaw, director of HR Delivery at ACCA, comments: ‘Earlier this year, ACCA was awarded the Living Wage Employer Mark by the Living Wage Foundation. We’re really proud of this accreditation as it recognises the commitment we have as an employer that we pay all our UK employees at least the living wage.

‘It was great to attend the reception, which was hosted by Kevin Hollinrake MP, and to meet with like-minded employers who are also committed to open and fair pay polices. We heard inspirational speeches from the Living Wage Foundation, and others who showed in very tangible ways how the living wage makes a real difference.’
