BRUSSELS, June 14, 2019 – Today, Catherine Bearder, MEP for South East England, has been appointed as Trustee to the London-based charitable organisation - the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW).

The Oxford-based Liberal Democrat MEP, known for being a passionate advocate for environmental protection, will be joining other Trustees, including Graeme Cottam and Brian Hutchinson, in her new role.

New EU initiative to counter surging wildlife cybercrime

Brussels, Belgium, 14 June 2019—A new European Union (EU)-funded project aims to disrupt criminals trafficking wildlife in or via the EU using the internet, postal or fast parcel services. The project is implemented by a strong coalition gathering WWF, IFAW, INTERPOL, the Belgian Customs and TRAFFIC. The project is led by WWF Belgium, in affiliation with TRAFFIC.

The General Assembly of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) held today in Paris re-elected Jean-Marc Leroy GIE President for another term office. Jean-Marc Leroy has been member of the GIE Board since 2005 and served as GSE President from 2008 to 2012. He was first appointed GIE President in 2015.
