Event Description

Martens Centre, rue du Comme rce 20, 1000 Brussels 12:30-14:00

The new EU Commission has been marked by multiple accusations of                                              green backsliding in Europe. This narrative is dangerous because it conflates                                  valid and evidence-based criticism of EU energy and environment policy with                          climate change denial.

As the Commission unveils their Clean Industrial Deal and the first Omnibus                            package, there are voices calling for a critical review of energy policies that are                            most cost efficient and keep Europe on track to meet climate goals and reinforce                      energy security in the continent.

The Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies along with EPICENTER invite                            you to a discussion on realistic steps forward on achieving European economic                          growth by looking at the energy and environmental framework.

The conversation will enable the debate of perspectives on the Affordable Energy                        Action Plan of the European Commission and how to foster a more favourable                  environment for economic growth in Europe while considering reforms to the                                  ETS or alternative energy sources framework.
