S&D Group's newly-elected leadership team

The now fully-constituted Socialists and Democrats Group is going into the new 2024-2029 mandate with a strong team of dedicated MEPs. United, they will continue to steer the work in the European Parliament and deliver for all Europeans, as outlined in their key demands document, published on 9 July.
On 25 June, the S&D Group re-elected Iratxe García Pérez as group President. On 26 June, the S&D Group completed its Bureau by electing its vice-presidents and treasurer, who are each responsible for a designated policy area. On 16 July, the European Parliament elected five S&D Group MEPs to the position of vice-presidents of this house, as well as one Quaestor the following day.
From Thursday, 11 July, through Monday, 22 July, the S&D Group elected their coordinators. The coordinators chair S&D members in their respective committees, negotiating on our behalf with other political groups, and are the S&D Group's spokespeople on the topics of the committee.
Today, five S&D Group MEPs were elected Chairs of European Parliament committees.
In September, the European Parliament will elect the delegation chairs.
