CECIMO, the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries and related Manufacturing Technologies, has launched its Manifesto for the 2019 European Elections. 

 

Manufacturing is the future of the EU. To enforce our industry in Europe, we need new technologies, new approaches to training and to continue the progress in Digital Single Market Agenda, especially when it comes to industrial policies driven by digital and other new technologies. 

 

With its Manifesto, CECIMO calls EU and national decision makers to take into consideration the 10 key CECIMO Recommendations when defining the future EU industrial policy and setting the EU’s annual and multiannual priorities. CECIMO is the European Association of the Machine Tool Industries and related Manufacturing Technologies. We bring together 15 national associations of machine tool builders, which represent approximately 1500 industrial enterprises in Europe (EU + EFTA + Turkey), over 80% of which are SMEs. CECIMO covers 98% of the total machine tool production in Europe and about 33% worldwide. It accounts for more than 150,000 employees and a turnover of nearly €26 billion in 2017. More than three quarters of CECIMO production is shipped abroad, whereas half of it is exported outside Europe.
