Following the summer break, #EuropeTogether is back on the road and the members of the S&D Group along with their partners in the Committee of the Regions have chosen the 7th of September in Carcassonne to be the location to discuss the topic: "Our fight for social progress – Let's act together".
Under the leadership of the President of the Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Udo Bullmann, this #EuropeTogether conference will bring together members of the European Parliament along with the Head of the European Parliament French socialist delegation, Christine Revault d'Allonnes-Bonnefoy, S&D Group Vice-President Eric Andrieu, European Parliament Vice-President Sylvie Guillaume, President of the Committee of the Regions Karl-Heinz Lambertz and the Leader of the Socialists within this institution, Catiuscia Marini, as well as local representatives including the President of the Occitanie Region Carole Delga, the President of the Conseil Général de l’Aude André Viola, the President of the region of Andalusia Susanna Diaz Pacheco, the Mayor of Mannheim Peter Kurz and representatives of the region. Those present will have an opportunity to interact with the participants.
The First Secretary of the Socialist Party Olivier Faure will also be in Carcassonne, where three main themes will be addressed: ensuring decent working conditions for all, in the context of an ever-changing global economy; lifting children out of poverty and the added value of immigration (details of the program and participants available here).
The Conference is open to the public. It will be broadcast live on the Europe Together platform website and on the S&D Group Facebook page.
