EurActiv today launched an improved press release service for European affairs journalists. Among its primary new features are a better layout and new functionalities like refined search options and news alerts. Journalists are invited to explore the service at: http://pr.euractiv.com.
The press releases, posted by EU actors such as the EU institutions, political parties, trade associations, NGOs and companies, are ordered chronologically or by policy issue. This makes the service easy and quick to use, helping journalists to find press releases they might otherwise have missed.
“Journalists receive, daily, dozens of emails relating to EU policies, coming from various actors in the Brussels arena. The added value of our PR service is receiving press releases in a centralised manner, reliably, from a trusted source. This saves time and helps organise the information available. Our initial service started last year, and now we have decided to provide journalists with improved functionalities,” said Dan Luca, EurActiv’s Public Relations Director.
In order to make the PR Service more user-friendly, its layout and functionalities have been streamlined. At the same time, the search options (by topic, source/brand or date - or all three at the same time) have been re-organised in order to make the content of the homepage and the service itself more efficient. Another new feature is the availability of press release alerts.
All press releases are posted online and reach registered people via email alerts. Once a press release has been published, an automatic email alert is sent, with the link and a short abstract, to the people who have subscribed to receive press releases on that topic. Each press release is sent by itself or grouped together with other press releases on the same issue.
