EuropaBio is delighted to announce that Nathalie Moll has been appointed as Secretary General from 1 April this year.

“Nathalie brings with her a wealth of experience in biotechnology and European public policy, gained both at an EU and Member State level” said Chairman of EuropaBio Andrea Rappagliosi.  “Over the many years that she has already worked for EuropaBio she has demonstrated a proven track record of successful leadership, first as Manager for External Relations and Government Affairs and then as Directors for Healthcare and Agricultural Biotechnology.”

After graduating with Honours in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from St Andrew’s University, Scotland, Moll worked in the biotechnology and food policy area for the European Crop Protection Association and then for the Italian National Biotech Association and Dompe’ Farmaceutici S.p.A, dealing with the implementation of EU biotech legislation at National level.  In addition, Moll has spent almost a decade representing the European Biotechnology Industry through EuropaBio.

In the course of her career, Moll has done much to improve awareness of the importance and benefits of biotechnology for Europeans and has worked, together with regulators and stakeholders, towards developing a more supportive legislative framework for the industry. Moll takes over from current Secretary General, Willy De Greef, who has successfully led the Association since June 2008.

“Nathalie has become known and respected, by regulators and stakeholders alike, as a big picture thinker with a keen eye for detail” added Rappagliosi. “As Europeans, we face challenging times in terms of the growing healthcare needs of our aging population and of our food, energy and climate security.  Nathalie has an in-depth understanding of biotechnology and the significant role that it will play in finding solutions to these challenges.  We have no doubt that as Secretary General she will lead EuropaBio from strength to strength”
