Leading international law firm DLA Piper today announced the arrival of Tim Eestermans at its Brussels Office.

Tim joins the firm as Senior Counsel and will be part of the Global Trade and Government Affairs team, strengthening the firm's EU regulatory and policy capabilities. Tim is a former diplomat, and as foreign policy and international relations expert with over 15 years of experience has worked for a variety of Governments and international organisations. He brings extensive knowledge of EU decision-making, sound diplomatic experience, and a profound understanding of international relations to the firm.

Tim's arrival at DLA Piper reflects the firm's comprehensive approach in servicing clients. Before joining DLA Piper in 2016, Tim was Senior Adviser and Team Leader in the Policy Planning Department of the United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he advised on issues related to policy development, international relations, and (public) diplomacy. From 2006 until 2010, Tim was part of the Policy Unit of the European Union's High Representative for Foreign & Security Policy, dealing mainly with the EU's policies towards Pakistan and Afghanistan. Tim served in the Diplomatic Service of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 2001 until 2006, with postings in The Hague, Jakarta, and Madrid.
