Brussels, 26 January – On Friday 3 February, TIC Council, the international trade association  representing the independent testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) sector, is hosting a  breakfast on behalf of MEP Pascal Durand at the European Parliament to discuss the  implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), following the final  approval for its adoption given by the European Council at the end of November 2022.

With EU member states given 18 months to implement the directive’s text into national law, there  remain a series of questions about how the legislation will impact businesses and service providers  alike. Compliance as of 2025 means that businesses will have to work on selecting and monitoring  the items that will need to be reported on.

“The next 18 months will be critical for all the actors that need to comply with all the new CSRD  obligations, from businesses, and independent assurance service providers, to accreditation  bodies, Their readiness is essential for the effective and correct implementation of the directive,” says Hanane Taidi, Director General of TIC Council.

In light of this framework, the breakfast discussion aims to facilitate an exchange between key  stakeholders and policymakers on the opportunities and risks of the implementation of the  directive. The discussion, moderated by MEP Pascal Durand, (Socialists & Democrats, France),  CSRD rapporteur, will be guided by the following experts offering further insight on the topic:

The breakfast will take place on Friday 3 February from 8:00 to 9:30 at the Paul-Henri Spaak Restaurant. Interpretation from French to English will be provided.

If you wish to attend the breakfast, confirm your participation here. Please note that due to limited  capacity in the European Parliament, registrations will be processed on a "first come, first served” basis.
