Stable market outlook for Grassland Equipment

Brussels/Hannover, 8 October 2020 – The European market for grassland equipment showed a significant decrease in sales units in the season 2019-2020 related to the previous season 2018-2019. Volume was below season 2017/2018 as well. While the expectations were for a balanced market, weather conditions in some regions, uncertainty about developments in specific markets and the worldmarket for dairy products had an negative impact on the total number of units for the individual segments of loader wagons, mowers, rakes and tedders. Additionally, the continued trend towards larger machines is also reducing the number of machines sold.
For next season manufacturers expect a more or less stable market on the level of season 2019/2020. The markets in the United Kingdom and Ireland remain unpredictable, and Covid-19 might cause unforeseen disruptions.
The CEMA Product Groups are alliances of the leading European manufacturers of agricultural equipment. The main focus is placed on the joint assessment of the market based on dedicated statistics. Currently, 11 companies from five European countries are members of the CEMA Product Group Grassland Equipment. Prerequisite for participation is the membership in a national industry association, which belongs to the European umbrella association CEMA.
