Acumen is pleased to announce a spring shower of promotions in its 20 people strong team.

Nikos Manaras has just been promoted to the role of Associate Director. Nikos joined Acumen back in January 2017 from the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) where he was the Senior EU Affairs and Media Coordinator. He got promoted from Account Manager to Account Director after one year, and to Associate Director after just another. Elaine Cruikshanks, one of Acumen’s three founding partner said: “Nikos has made a substantial contribution to Acumen’s pharmaceutical and healthcare business: I look forward to working with him on a packed and interesting legislative, regulatory and communications agenda for the industry going forward.” Nikos commented: “It is an exciting opportunity to say the least. Health and pharmaceuticals policies are at a pivotal moment both at EU and global level. I will make sure we continue delivering the high-quality services we are known for and work with my colleagues to grow our portfolio of clients and offerings. I am thankful to the partners for trusting me with this role in the company”.

Giorgos Xenokratis and Denise Walter, who both started as Trainees last October, have been offered permanent positions as Consultants within the team. Prior to joining Acumen, Giorgos developed the outreach of a Washington-based NGO establishing its presence in US Congress, got an insider’s view on EU policymaking during his work at the European Commission, and helped to shape the advocacy strategy of a large multinational company on innovation. At Acumen, he supports clients on mobility, innovation and circular economy. As for Denise, she gained consulting experience working on projects related to transport, social affairs and employment policy and she now provides support for clients with a focus on similar policy areas.

Camilla Bratsbjerg and Scott Brown also started as Trainees in the team last January, around the same time that Acumen was named as the top consultancy to work for in Brussels by InternsGoPro, as rated by interns themselves. Did you know that 80% of Acumen trainees are offered a permanent contract at the end of their Traineeship?

Acumen recently refurbished and expanded its offices to accommodate its expanding team since growing further is high on the Acumen agenda for 2019!
Last but not least, last February, Acumen was also featured in “Best in Brussels”, a report that lists the 50 firms that really drive best practice in the Brussels market and that was published by Dober Partners.
