S&D Group president Iratxe García Pérez will join the 41th Federal Congress of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) in Seville, Spain from Friday 29^th November to Sunday 1^st December. PSOE members, high-level progressives, international leaders, and activists will analyse the state of democracy in Europe and the challenges ahead for social democracy and society.

During the weekend, Iratxe García will have an exchange of views with the Spanish Young Socialists about European challenges, housing and youth. In the evening, the S&D leader will participate in the round table entitled ‘The European Social Model – Social-democrats leadership’ with Elly Schlein, leader of the Partito Democratico (Italy), and Raphaël Glucksmann, leader of the French delegation in the European Parliament, and more.

Ahead of the Congress, S&D president Iratxe García said:

“Coinciding with the start of the new European Commission, with a geopolitical context full of conflicts and new challenges, it’s no coincidence that we, social democrats and Spanish socialists, meet to prepare the framework report which will mark the future of the party. The support of the Socialists and Democrats group to PSOE, one of the largest delegations of our family and one of our European S&D governments led by Pedro Sánchez, is essential for the projection of our group – together we are stronger.
