The Chairman of the main European parliamentary Group (EPP Group), Joseph Daul MEP, has asked the President-in-Office of the Council of the European Union, Viktor Orbán, to forward the SCHE-VAL Report to the European Parliament on the state of the preparation of Romania and Bulgaria for the Schengen area.

"The EPP Group hopes that, in the interests of transparency and efficiency, the Council forwards this document to the European Parliament, for information, as soon as possible", underlined Joseph Daul in his letter to Viktor Orbán.

The European Parliament is consulted on the accession of Romania and Bulgaria to the Schengen area and the EPP Group believes it must have its say based on the real effects.
