Ralf Resch as new Secretary General of CEEP
Date
On 11 March, during a meeting of the General Assembly, the members of CEEP appointed Mr Ralf RESCH as the new Secretary General for a three year term.
CEEP is very pleased to welcome Ralf Resch. He replaces Rainer Plassmann who was the Secretary General for the last 9 years.
Since 1995, Ralf RESCH has been strongly involved in CEEP’s work. He is actively involved in Social Affairs Committee, and is a member of CEEP’s negotiating team on the revision of the parental leave directive. As a coordinator in the Transport Committee, he gained 15 years of valuable experience in this field when he worked for two of the major transport companies Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) AöR, and previously Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) GmbH on European and International affairs. In this capacity, he was strongly involved in the discussion on the liberalisation of the transport sector and the EU regulation on public transport with its in-house clause.
His aptitude, competence and ability as well as adaptability has allowed him to work in different environments, to face challenges ranging from Human Resources Management, and to policy business development and strategy, including European and International Affairs.
“I am looking forward to my new responsibilities” said Ralf Resch. “In times of economic crisis the public sector and our members face new challenges. With the coming elections of the European Parliament and the new Commission, the deck is going to be re-shuffled. This is an excellent opportunity for CEEP to make its positions even clearer!”
