On 13 November the Orgalim General Assembly elected the new Orgalim President: Rada Rodriguez, Member of the Management Board at Schneider Electric GmbH. Ms Rodriguez succeeds Tomas Hedenborg, Senior Adviser to the Board at Fastems, who has completed a successful four-year tenure as President.
The role of the President is to represent Orgalim externally in dialogue with European decision makers at the highest level. Internally, they are responsible for strategic agenda setting for the association.
Commenting on her appointment, Ms Rodriguez said: “I am honoured that Orgalim’s members have put their trust in me, and I look forward to helping to shape the future of our industries, building on Tomas Hedenborg’s excellent work in recent years.”
In presenting her priorities to Orgalim Members, Ms Rodriguez underlined her focus on critical themes such as Europe’s innovation ecosystem, the workforce of the future, and the transformative potential of new business models attached to digitalisation. Across these and other areas, she will work to continue deepening collaboration with Orgalim’s wide network of industry partners. “I am highly aware of the challenges facing Europe and our industries at this moment,” added Ms Rodriguez. “Yet I am convinced that every challenge is at the same time an opportunity.”
“We are fortunate to have someone of Rada Rodriguez’s calibre and experience to help us drive forward our political engagement at this critical moment,” remarked Malte Lohan, Orgalim Director General. “As we face into a new legislative period, closer dialogue between industry and EU decision makers will be crucial to promote the role of technology and innovation in shaping a future that’s good for Europe.”
