TUSIAD is pleased to announce its new President, Ms. Umit Boyner. She is elected together with the new members of the board at the 40th General Assembly of TUSIAD held in Istanbul on January 21, 2010. Ms Boyner suucceds to Ms Arzuhan Dogan Yalcindag who served as TUSIAD President from 2007 to 2010. 

Born in 1963, Ms. Boyner received a BA degree in Economics from the University of Rochester in the US. She began her professional career in 1985 at Chemical Mitsui Bank, followed by senior positions at the finance departments of several companies. In 1996 she became the Vice-President in charge of Finance at Boyner Group. In 2002 she became a board member overseeing the finances and investments of the group. 

Ms. Boyner has been serving on the Board of TUSIAD since 2005, initially as a board member in charge of the External Communication Commission, later as a vice-chair. Mrs. Boyner also devotes her time to various NGOs such as the Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (Tegv), Turkish Institute of Nautical Archaeology (Tina), and Tohum Autism Foundation. She was also the President of the Corporate Volunteer Association for two years, and a founding member and vice-president for four years of the Women Enterpreneurs Association (Kagider). Since 2008 she has been serving on the  Advisory Board of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She is married and has two children.
