October 1, 2024 – In a groundbreaking initiative to address the urgent need to take climate action, the Life Terra Foundation and Nadace Partnerství proudly announce the launch of European Tree Planting Day. Set to unite schools, municipalities, companies, NGOs, and individuals across Europe, this movement is designed to make a significant impact through the simple but powerful act of planting trees.

European Tree Planting Day aims to mobilise communities from all corners of the continent in a synchronised, large-scale tree-planting effort, symbolising Europe’s collective resolve to combat climate change and other issues facing the planet. The event encourages organisations and individuals to collaborate on this important day, multiplying the positive effects of local actions on a European scale.

European Tree Planting Day is more than just a symbolic event. It is a coordinated action across Europe that we hope will inspire citizens, especially the future generations, to unite for a common cause that is every day more urgent” Sven Kallen, representative of Life Terra Foundation.

“We believe that every tree planted can make a tangible difference, and when we do it together, the impact is multiplied. This is why we hope to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in this collective effort and make a lasting positive impact on our environment.”, Miroslav Kundrata, representative of Nadace Partnerství.

Why Trees Matter

Trees are one of nature’s most powerful tools for mitigating climate change. They absorb carbon dioxide, restore ecosystems, prevent soil erosion, and enhance biodiversity. With global warming accelerating, the need for impactful, scalable climate solutions has never been more critical.

Interested participants can visit www.treeplantingday.eu to register their tree-planting activities and learn more about how they can contribute.
