AGE Platform Europe, the European Disability Forum and Vodafone Foundation launched a unique initiative challenging developers to design mobile applications (or ‘apps’) to improve the lives of ageing people and people with disabilities. The 12 finalist apps will be presented at the Awards night on December 5 in Brussels and the 4 winning ones will share a prize of €200k.

Abstract: Commissioner Neelie Kroes will join the Smart Accessibility Awards Night on December 5, in Brussels. The event is the final part of a project launched last June by AGE Platform Europe, the European Disability Forum and Vodafone Foundation with the aim of challenging developers to design mobile applications (or ‘apps’) to improve the lives of ageing people and people with disabilities. The 12 finalist apps will be presented at the 5 December event and the 4 winning ones will share a prize of €200k. Euractiv readers are invited to join. Registration is required.
