Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) members re-elect Jean-Marc Leroy as the President

The General Assembly of Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) held today in Paris re-elected Jean-Marc Leroy GIE President for another term office. Jean-Marc Leroy has been member of the GIE Board since 2005 and served as GSE President from 2008 to 2012. He was first appointed GIE President in 2015.
Jean-Marc Leroy said: “Gas Infrastructure Europe has always been committed to developing a fruitful cooperation between EU policy makers and stakeholders. It is an extremely robust platform strengthening ties between infrastructure operators. I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with the Presidency of GIE for a third term and I will strive to further reinforce the association and will continue to develop a strong voice for gas while promoting the development of innovative solutions for succeeding the energy transition.”
Jean-Marc Leroy is Senior Vice Executive President for External Relations at ENGIE. Prior to that he served as Managing Director for Gas Chain at ENGIE and, before that, Chief Executive Officer of Storengy, the underground gas storage operator of ENGIE. He previously held several senior positions in the infrastructure business, including Vice President of Major Infrastructures Division, encompassing storage and LNG terminals. Jean-Marc Leroy is also President of the Supervisory Board of GRDF, the French distribution network operator.
GIE is the European association of gas infrastructure operators in the area of transmission, storage and LNG. Currently, it represents 70 member companies from 26 countries across Europe. GIE is committed to shaping and implementing a transparent, secure, sustainable and competitive gas market in Europe underpinned by a stable and predictable regulatory framework and a sound investment climate.
