The International Road Transport Union is against actions obstructing the free circulation of goods but not against the call for professional diesel.
Geneva – ‘’The wave of fuel protests and blockades around the world in recent weeks have not and will not solve the problem of rising fuel prices’’ said IRU President Mr Janusz Lacny. ‘’While understanding the frustrations of transport operators and respecting the right to strike, the IRU can in no way support actions which disrupt the free movement of people and goods by road. Nevertheless, governments are culpable for allowing the situation to deteriorate to this extent by not offering support to hauliers in the face of unprecedented soaring fuel costs.’’
