The Session in the Dutch capital marks the 71th International Session of the European Youth Parliament, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year after being founded in France in 1987 (www.eyp.org).

The young delegates – aged 16 to 22 – will debate topics that are on the European agenda at the very moment. A special focus of this conference will be on the economic crisis and ways in which to end it. The topics can be found here:

The event starts with Teambuilding and Committee Work before moving on to the General Assembly held on November 9th and 10th. At this stage, the youngsters will debate and vote on resolutions they have drafted in international committee. These resolutions will be sent on to Members of the European Parliament and other partners.

His Royal Highness Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands, European Commissioner for Climate Change Connie Hedegaard and Vice President of the European Parliament Rainer Wieland will visit and address the delegates.
