European Council: No concrete proposals to address attacks on Christians. Elmar Brok MEP and Mario Mauro MEP

Mario Mauro and Elmar Brok, promoters in the European Parliament of the Resolution on attacks against Christian communities, are astonished that the draft document released by the Council on intolerance, discrimination and violence on the basis of religion or belief  "never even mentions Christians".

Furthermore, they "are astonished that the Council document fails to take in consideration any of the proposals made by the European Parliament through its Resolution approved with a large majority during last plenary session".

In conclusion, Mauro and Brok "call on the EU Governments, especially those who have been very vocal on this issue, to modify the draft text by adding concrete proposals to address the problems faced by Christians' communities in some parts of the world".
