European Aluminium gets off to flying start of 2018 with two new members

Brussels, 1 February 2018 – European Aluminium, the voice of the entire aluminium value chain, welcomed two new members this month after adding five new members to its ranks in 2017. In total, the Brussels-based industry association now represents over 85 companies and associations covering more than 600 plants across 30 European countries.
The two new member companies are Alumetal S.A., one of Europe’s largest aluminium refiners and producers of aluminium master alloys, aluminium for steel deoxidation, fluxes and salts, and ALTEK, a technology-based company focusing on the design, manufacturing and installation of aluminium dross, salt slag and scrap processing systems.
Alumetal S.A. joins European Aluminium as a full member of the Recycling Division and ALTEK joins the same division as an associated member.

“We are excited to start the new year with the addition of Alumetal S.A. and ALTEK to our membership. European Aluminium has never been stronger or more inclusive than it is today, which allows us to enhance the visibility of our advocacy efforts and leadership on a range of issues that matter most to the industry,” said Gerd Götz, Director General of European Aluminium.

“For 2018, our priorities are clear. We need to continue to knock on the doors of policy makers involved in the decarbonisation of transport, the Circular Economy Package and Trade, stimulate innovation and sustainability in our sector and collaborate with other sectors to secure a robust industrial policy aligned to the EU’s energy and climate goals.”
