Knowledge4Innovation — in cooperation with IncubatorEurope and Glowfly — announced today that the selection process of the EU Top 50 winners has been finalised. The EU Top 50 were selected from applicants hailing from 26 European Countries.
Europe’s Top 50 start-ups will be revealed on the 28th of November in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament, Brussels.
“We’re on a mission to find Millennials providing solutions for major challenges” says Dr Roland Strauss, Managing Director of Knowledge4Innovation. “We understand the importance of knowledge exchange and the need to empower the region’s most promising young founders.
You are cordially invited to participate in the EU Top 50 ‘Hemicycle Start-up Convention’ where hundreds of young entrepreneurs, investors, corporate representatives and policy makers will witness the pitches of the winners and listen to how these founders are leveraging technology to address Europe’s most pressing challenges.
In the afternoon, the finalists will showcase their business ventures to investors and corporates. A workshop on how the EU is supporting start-ups, as well as a Top 50 Networking Reception complete the programme.
"These millennial founders have solutions which will disrupt entire industries, and I strongly believe they have the potential to make a global impact. Many of these startups will potentially directly impact our quality of life, safety and wellbeing. We have startups on the list such as Corti.ai, a Swedish startup using machine learning to aid emergency stations using auto-speech recognition to diagnose cardiac arrest with 92% accuracy. Not only do they reduce the error by 80% they allow more patients to get the right treatment, seventy times faster. Fotokite, a Swiss startup is the first ever UAV technology to be approved by aviation authorities for commercial use in cities and above crowds of people. Firefighters & public safety teams can use the system for immediate aerial situational awareness. The young founders have great traction and their technology has already been adopted by both BBC and CNN. Our youngest founders are three twenty-year-old entrepreneurs behind Bioo, a clean-tech company capable of generating electricity from plant’s photosynthesis. Their mission is to turn forests into future energy stations. With nearly 8000 customers joining their movement they are leading a green revolution in which plants will provide the most sustainable and competitive energy source charging our cities in the future. Here is a sneak peek of Europe's Top 50 Founders. " Says Karolina Stawinska, Co-founder of Glowfly & Head of the EU top 50 Selection Committee
