Chris White, owner and publisher of the Brussels based magazine EU REPORTER, today announced that that the publication and its associated businesses are under new ownership.
Chris White said “This amicable takeover promises new opportunities and opens up new horizons for a publication that has become an integral and inseparable part of the Brussels scene.”
The new owner is Half Tidy Ltd, a UK investment vehicle for Colin Stevens, who said “When I first read EU Reporter I knew it was different to other publications covering the EU. On meeting its publisher and editor Chris White I soon realised that while you could take Chris out of Fleet Street you could never take Fleet Street out of Chris.”
“ For him news is something someone somewhere does not want published, and EU Reporter's track record of finding and publishing such stories is impressive.”
“EU Reporter supports business and especially small business for which it tirelessly campaigned before the European Commission properly recognised the role of SMEs.”
Stevens’ other business interests include UK and Brussels based media & communications company Quadrant, which supplies TV & Radio reportage of the European institutions to broadcasters worldwide, Web TV, Media Training, Event Management, PR and Crisis Management.
“Despite its sometimes critical tone it is a friend of Europe, wanting
the European Union to work.” said Stevens. “These are ideals both Chris and I share. Also, like him, I think the best friends one can have are those that will be critical but constructive when you are wrong and positive when you are right.”
“You will see changes, but editorial policy will not be one of them. Independent investigative journalism is alive and well and living in Brussels. So if you have something to hide, beware because EU Reporter will find out.
If you have nothing to hide and are proud of what you are doing, we will welcome your advertising and advertorial, and it will be clearly identified as such.”
Chris White has agreed to remain as an editorial consultant to oversee the “many new and exciting developments” that will take place at EU Reporter in the near future.
