Join some 200 taxi operators, political authorities, academics and taxi marketing experts at the 4th IRU International Taxi Forum to explore the future of safe and sustainable taxi services.

Brussels - The 4th IRU International Taxi Forum on “Taxi Industry Image: towards a vision of safe and sustainable services for all” will be held on 5 November 2010 in Cologne, Germany to explore challenges and opportunities for the taxi industry.

Organised in partnership with the German Taxi and Hire-Car Association (BZP), and the Fachvereinigung Personenverkehr Nordrhein e.V., within the framework of the largest global taxi exhibition, Europäische Taximesse, the forum will bring together some 200 leading taxi operators, competent authorities, taxi-related academic researchers and marketing experts from around the globe.

Hubert Andela, President of the IRU Taxi Group, said: “We welcome all taxi stakeholders who want to join us in Cologne and share their views on the future challenges and opportunities for the taxi industry. Our objective is to enhance the taxi industry’s position as a key element of the public transport chain, offering safe, sustainable and tailor-made services to all our customers, while meeting their current and future mobility needs”.

Peter Zander, Board Member of BZP and President of the Europäische Taximesse, added: “We are delighted to host the IRU’s 4th International Taxi Forum. The synergy between the forum and the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to all those involved in the taxi business and policy making to familiarise themselves with the latest taxi technologies and services, while participating in an important practical and political debate on the future of the taxi industry.”

The Europäische Taximesse will feature all products of interest for taxi and minibus businesses, such as latest vehicle technology and accessories, including special vehicle and minibus designs, taximeters, roof signs, phones, radio systems, advertising materials, as well as latest IT systems and software available on the market.
