ETNO-Financial Times 2011 CEO Summit; CEOs from leading telecoms operators and ICT equipment manufacturers from Europe and beyond discuss the future of the digital economy

Chief Executive Officers of telecoms operators and ICT equipment manufacturers will gather on October 3rd in Brussels at the Summit hosted by ETNO and the Financial Times. The CEO Summit will build upon the CEO Roundtable hosted by Commissioner Kroes on July 13th and will facilitate further input from industry on how to achieve the Digital Agenda targets.

"Eurozone Leaders have made some momentous decisions providing a robust and comprehensive response to the sovereign debt crisis in some Eurozone countries", declared Joseph Daul MEP, EPP Group Chairman, on the outcome of the Summit of Eurozone Countries in Brussels (on 21 July 2011).

 

"Of course these decisions must now be implemented without delay and the Economic Governance Package , currently before the Council and the European Parliament, needs to be finalised as soon as possible, in September at the latest."

High inflation and low investment hampers recovery, ACCA survey shows - Western European finance professionals most pessimistic as region ‘ tests the limits of austerity’

Rising inflation and flat investment have kept the world’s economic recovery stuck in reverse, the latest Global Economic Conditions Survey from ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has shown.

Of the 2,186 ACCA members surveyed between 16 May and 6 June 2011, only 26% reported increased confidence, down from 28% three months ago, with 57% saying that economic conditions are either deteriorating or stagnating, up from 51% only three months ago.
