Gaddafi death - Libya must now move on, begin reconciliation and leave revenge behind

Commenting on the reported death of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Green foreign policy spokesperson Franziska Brantner said:

"Libya must now move on and begin a true process of reconciliation and rebuilding, leaving revenge behind. While it clearly would have been preferable if Gaddafi had been captured and tried for his long list of crimes, today will hopefully mark the beginning of a new chapter for Libya.

Financial regulation MIFID overhaul necessary but missed opportunity to close key loopholes

Today, EuropaBio and nine of its partners  launch a “Biorefinery Feasibility Study” at the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology and the Biobased Economy (EFIB), in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Conducted by Dalberg Global Development Advisors, the study provides a blueprint for establishing integrated, demonstration scale biorefineries in the EU and recommends co-investments from public and private stakeholders to overcome the gap from research to market.

The Road Show seeks to raise awareness of indoor air pollution and see indoor air quality brought to the political agenda in view of the upcoming EU Year of Air Quality 2013.
 

Gas Infrastructure Operators welcome the legal proposal on energy infrastructure guidelines from the European Commission but call for policy makers not to stop there

Following the European Commission’s release of a proposal for an energy infrastructure regulation today, gas infrastructure operators welcomed the planned piece of legislation which focuses on the development of the appropriate infrastructure for the evolving energy world. “A low carbon economy can only happen, and indeed can be expedited, with gas playing a fundamental role. An efficient continent-wide gas infrastructure delivers energy quietly and invisibly to and across Europe”, said Jean-Claude Depail, GIE President, today.
