Photovoltaic and Battery Sectors recognize the key role of Energy Storage in the future development of photovoltaic power

“Energy storage technology will become an important, value-added component in photovoltaic (PV) systems in the future and will contribute to the continuous long term growth of PV”. That is the conclusion reached by a joint working group convened by EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association) and EUROBAT (Association of European Storage Battery Manufacturers).

Brussels, 12 June 2008 - “Energy storage technology will become an important, value-added component in photovoltaic (PV) systems in the future and will contribute to the continuous long term growth of PV”. That is the conclusion reached by a joint working group convened by EPIA (European Photovoltaic Industry Association) and EUROBAT (Association of European Storage Battery Manufacturers).

CEEP contributed to the 2008 Employment Week as event partner, stressing highly topical employment issues.

Brussels, on 12 June 2008- The event held on 11 and 12 June focused on burning issues like flexicurity and connected issues, like their practical implementation with the National Social Partners in the European Member States and all other employment stakeholders.
During the Employment Week 2008, 4 CEEP social affairs’ experts presented their conclusions on these topics.

Commentary on the agreement by the EU ministers on temporary employment and working time on 9 June, 2008

"CESI welcomes the improvement of the situation of temporary workers in terms of labour law as a positive signal in the run-up to the Social Agenda, to be unveiled in July. In terms of granting temporary workers equal opportunities, in particular in the area of maternity leave and remuneration, the European Union has accommodated the wishes of the trade unions and removed a dreadful injustice".
