EOS Elections: new EOS President & EOS Board

The General Assembly of the Brussels based European Organization of the Sawmill Industry, EOS, that met in Vienna on 4 June 2013, unanimously elected Mr Måns Johansson, Managing Director of Vida Wood AB (Sweden) as President for a 2-year term.

Messrs Carsten Doehring, Managing Director of Ilim Timber Germany and Serge Raison, Managing Director of the hardwood sawmill Raison Bois & Debit were elected as Vice-Presidents responsible for softwood and hardwood matters respectively.

Newly elected to the EOS Board were Mr. Sampsa Auvinen, CEO of Norvik Timber, Mr. Christoph Kulterer, Managing Director of Hasslacher Holding GmbH and Mr. Esa Kaikkonen, Executive Vice-President of Metsä Wood.

The new Board of EOS for the period 2013-2014 is composed of:

The European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS) is a Brussels-based non-profit association representing the interests of the European sawmilling sector and the benefits of its products. The collective expertise of EOS’s members provides a unique source of information both for and on the industry; coordinating essential exchanges of experience and knowledge among its members, the ability to provide technical assistance to legislators and to identify independent experts on specific issues.

Through its member countries EOS represents some 35 000 companies across Europe. Together they represent 75 % of the total European sawn wood output and a turnover of almost 37 billion EUR, and 15% of the overall woodworking and furniture industry in EU.
