ICT INDUSTRY HAILS EUROPEAN CLOUD STRATEGY

Thursday 27, September 2012 – Brussels – DIGITALEUROPE today applauded Neelie Kroes, European Commission Vice President in charge of the Digital Agenda, following the launch of the new strategy for "Unleashing the potential of cloud computing in Europe”.

“I welcome the Communication “Unleashing the Potential of Cloud Computing in Europe” and congratulate European Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes, in charge of the Digital Agenda, on setting out a clear vision. I agree that cloud computing can bring real benefits to Europe’s businesses, public services and citizens. I also welcome moves to boost jobs and growth in Europe for the cloud service provider community. DIGITALEUROPE represents the main cloud provider community, both large and small, and will play its part in realising the Commission’s vision. That’s why today we are announcing the launch of DIGITALEUROPE’s Cloud in Practice Programme.
