ETNO members eager to contribute to achieving the Digital Agenda
Brussels – More than 300 senior representatives of EU institutions, regulators and industry gathered at the first Digital Agenda Summit held today by ETNO and the Financial Times with the participation of Commissioner Kroes. Chief Executive Officers of leading telecoms operators and ICT equipment industries reiterated their key role in delivering broadband access to all and achieving the objectives of the Digital Agenda.
“Today’s Digital Agenda Summit is a unique opportunity for a lively debate on how to achieve the objectives of the Digital Agenda which will require the cooperation of all stakeholders and players. The presence of the leading telecoms operators and equipment manufacturers demonstrates the industry’s eagerness to play a key role”, said Michael Bartholomew, ETNO Director.
In a joint statement, ETNO members and observers representing 44 leading telecoms operators and equipment manufacturers, reiterated their significant contribution to the objectives of the Digital Agenda in areas such as a fast and ultra-fast networks, digital inclusion, innovation and sustainability.
ETNO members and observers are committed to work towards the achievement of the Digital Agenda in close cooperation with the other industry stakeholders and the EU Institutions.
