Madrid, Spain – 28 May 2026 – Partners of the European project AI-CODE (AI services for COntinuous trust in emerging Digital Environments) gathered in Madrid on 27–28 May 2026 for a two-day in-person plenary meeting hosted by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). The meeting brought together consortium partners to assess project progress, align strategic priorities, and coordinate the next phase of implementation and dissemination activities.

The plenary sessions focused on strengthening the project’s impact, sustainability, governance, and technical integration as AI-CODE enters a critical stage of deployment and validation. Discussions addressed recommendations emerging from the project review process, with particular emphasis on the evolution of the AI architecture, sustainability strategies, performance metrics, and long-term exploitation pathways.

During the meeting, partners reviewed the advancement of several work packages, including deployment and user-centred validation activities, summative evaluation planning, risk mitigation strategies, and dissemination actions. Technical sessions also examined the structure of the project’s GitHub and Hugging Face repositories, including decisions regarding open and private AI models and services.

A dedicated workshop on the AI-CODE Shell UI enabled partners to simulate integrated workflows and identify potential user experience improvements ahead of the next deployment phase. Consortium members also coordinated preparations for upcoming clustering and stakeholder engagement activities.

The Madrid meeting reinforced the consortium’s shared commitment to developing trustworthy, transparent, and sustainable AI services capable of supporting continuous trust in emerging digital environments. By consolidating technical, governance, and dissemination efforts, AI-CODE continues to contribute to the European Union’s vision for human-centric and reliable artificial intelligence.

The meeting concluded with a strategic planning session defining the roadmap for the project’s final activities and strengthening collaboration across work packages and partner organisations.

AI-CODE is funded by the European Union and brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of research institutions, technology providers, policy experts, and communication partners working to advance trustworthy AI solutions across Europe.
