Introducing Rapporteur, Euractiv’s new EU politics newsletter

[Brussels, 11 September, 2025] Euractiv today relaunched its free daily newsletter The Capitals as Rapporteur, marking a new direction for our politics coverage of the EU and Europe.

Rapporteur will lead the political conversation in Brussels, landing in inboxes at 7am every weekday, with original reporting from journalists Eddy Wax and Nicoletta Ionta supported by Euractiv’s newsroom of more than 60 journalists across Europe.

With a fresh design and a snappy format, Rapporteur hand-delivers you the main stories in Europe’s capitals and the European institutions in Brussels all before your morning coffee. No chaff, just essential news and definitive analysis.

"Our watchwords are concision, sobriety and accuracy. Each day we ask ourselves ‘What does this mean for Europe’?” said Eddy Wax, Rapporteur’s lead author.

“Rapporteur serves both as a standalone vehicle for fresh reporting and scoops, as well as the battering ram for Euractiv’s politics team’s work,” said Matthew Karnitschnig, Editor in Chief of Euractiv.

Kicking off with the day's biggest story, the newsletter takes readers on a whistle-stop tour of Europe’s capitals and serves up the best stories on Euractiv’s website and beyond.

Its objective is to deliver news with a European lens, to a community of readers who know that Brussels isn’t the only capital in Europe – but that it deserves a deeper focus.

This relaunch unites Euractiv’s daily EU politics newsletters into one brand. Today also saw Les Capitales and Europa Kompakt, Euractiv’s French and German language newsletters relaunch under the Rapporteur name.

There are wider changes at Euractiv this year as the newsroom continues to cement its reputation as the essential, trusted source of European news, scoops and analysis.

A refresh of Euractiv.com this week has delivered an improved reader experience, clearer design and better navigation.
