Brussels, 2 April 2025 - Companies bringing the most transformative products to the European FTTH ecosystem were celebrated at the FTTH Conference 2025 in Amsterdam last week.
The FTTH Innovation Awards recognised cutting-edge fibre advancements across AI, infrastructure, workflow, and installation. Recipients included Adtran, Corning, Deepomatic, IQGeo, and Nokia for their unique groundbreaking contributions in six different categories.
“These awards celebrate the outstanding achievements within the FTTH ecosystem over the past year. Each nominee showcased exceptional innovation and commitment, driving the advancements in fibre deployment and adoption across Europe,” said President of the FTTH Council Europe, Roshene McCool. “We look forward to seeing how these efforts will pave the way for further FTTH rollout and uptake across the continent.”
Additionally, Marta Wojchiechowska, CEO of Fiberhost, was awarded the FTTH Individual Award for her commitment to advancing FTTH implementation. SIRO and Yungo were also awarded the Operator Award and Champion of Diversity Award, respectively, as part of the FTTH Awards ceremony happened during the plenary of the FTTH Conference.
In a touching symbol of recognition, retiring Telefónica Global CTO Enrico Blanco was presented with a special award for his visionary leadership and outstanding contribution to the fibre industry at the Conference.
Speaking after the surprise acceptance of his award, Mr Blanco said: “At Telefónica, we have spent over a decade driving awareness around the benefits of fibre, and a large proportion of my own personal work has been related to driving fibre across Europe. Receiving this award is a true testament to the sense of community our sector has and is a truly special moment for me”.
The awards were presented in front of an audience of decision makers, investors, regulators and technical leaders from across the global connectivity sector at Europe’s leading fibre summit. Nearly 3.000 delegates attended the event across three days of networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.
The exhibition opened with the workshop-focused day covering key topics such as copper switch-off, sustainability, market intelligence, technology and investment. These trends were carried into the rest of the week, reinforced by expert panel discussions and immersive keynote presentations.
“Welcoming the continent’s leading fibre professionals to our FTTH Conference is always a great opportunity, not only to establish new contacts, but to look at the bigger picture of how we can work together toward our shared goals”, said FTTH Council Europe Director General, Vincent Garnier. “This year’s Conference proved as successful as ever, and the FTTH Council Europe can’t wait to welcome everyone to London for next year’s Conference.”
