Jon André Løkke, President of Hydrogen Europe, commented: “This award honours Jorgo Chatzimarkakis and our association as it signals strong feedback for the work that has been done over the last years. It motivates for the necessary next steps to build up a hydrogen economy.”

Jorgo Chatzimarkakis stated upon receiving the award: “Today, 9th of May, is Europe Day and as representative of Hydrogen Europe I would like to firstly thank all our members. The association's achievements would not have been possible without their expertise, activities, and dedication to climate action. Europe needs a new narrative, one that is built on safeguarding our planet for future generations. We built our economy based on cheap coal and oil in the past, now it is time they make place for clean hydrogen and electricity."
