ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and SOEL (the Institute of Certified Public Accountants) unveil the new CertIFR translated into Greek, making it the professional body’s first Greek language qualification.
CertIFR in Greek extends ACCA’s and SOEL’s support for the development of the finance and accountancy profession in Greece and across the Greek speaking world. Aimed at professionals with a background in financial reporting, CertIFR in Greek enables them to obtain an additional qualification that will enhance their professional development and open doors to a dynamic career. CertIFR in Greek contains an online course and online assessment which can be taken anytime, in any place, helping professionals to balance their learning needs around busy work and life schedules.
The new qualification was officially launched at an evening celebration on Tuesday 8 October 2019 at the Divani Caravel Hotel in Athens, Greece. The ceremony also saw a renewed signing of ACCA and SOEL’s Joint Exam Scheme (JES) and Strategic Partnership Agreements. The JES was originally signed in 2009 and has since supported over 2,500 members and students.
Alan Hatfield, executive director – strategy and development, said, ‘Our new offering of the CertIFR in Greek brings a wealth of opportunity to finance professionals in Greece and Greek speaking regions. We believe that the business environment gains from the adoption of global standards, and the launch of this qualification highlights our commitment to the finance profession in those markets. As we continue to grow our brand, ACCA aims to make a valuable contribution to accountancy professions and reinforce the importance of professional qualifications.’
Harilaos Alamanos, President of SOEL, said, ‘Today we are pleased to present officially the IFRS Certificate, which will provide our members with knowledge and skills to improve their qualifications. Our long standing cooperation with ACCA has been more than fruitful so far and we all look forward to our prosperous future together.’
