Former Judge of the EU General Court Professor Vilenas Vadapalas starting as an Attorney in Lithuania

Prof. Dr. Vilenas Vadapalas, former Judge of the General Court of the European Union, has joined Law Offices Vadapalas, Vaitekūnas and Partners EUROLEX.
While leading the European Law Department of the Government of Lithuania and preparing the Lithuanian legal system for EU membership, actively participating in the EU accession negotiations of Lithuania, working as a government negotiator at the most important bilateral negotiations on withdrawal of Russian troops and major treaties with the neighbouring countries, Professor Vadapalas has also contributed very much to education of current generation of Lithuanian lawyers and development of modern legal science in Lithuania. From 2000 to 2004 he was the Chair of Jean Monnet European Union Law Department at Vilnius University, from 2014 to 2015 – Professor of EU law and competition law at Yeditepe University (Istanbul).
Professor Vadapalas has extensive judicial experience working as a Judge of the General Court of the European Union from 2004 to 2013. He worked as a judge-rapporteur in such landmark cases as Tuna fisheries prohibitions in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic (Giordano and others, 2012), Hydrogen peroxide cartel (2011), Dutch brewers cartel (Heineken, Bavaria and others, 2011), three-dimensional trademarks (Procter & Gamble, 2007). Judge Vadapalas also took part in adjudication of famous cases Microsoft (2007), AstraZeneka (2010) and others.
