Commenting on the approval by EU Member States of the posting of workers draft Enforcement Directive, Danuta Jazłowiecka MEP, Parliament’s Rapporteur on the posting of workers, said:
"I am very happy that the Council today supported the result of the trialogue between the EU institutions and thus adopted a series of amendments proposed by the European Parliament. This is a sign of Member States taking responsibilty for the safe development of mobility within the EU. We are now facing a very important vote in the Employment and Social Committee. I very much hope that Members of the European Parliament will also support the Enforcement Directive, which will in the future improve protection of workers' rights and provide legal clarity for companies."
The draft proposal will now be submitted for final revision to the Parliament's Employment and Social Affairs Committee on 18 March. The final vote in plenary in the European Parliament is due to take place in April.
The EPP Group is by far the largest political group in the European Parliament with 274 Members from 27 Member States.
