Press release

As the social and political crisis in Ukraine continues, GUE/NGL MEP Helmut Scholz has called for an end to EU partisanship on the issue.

From tomorrow, Scholz will take part in the official European Parliament delegation of MEPs from various political groups to Ukraine.

The German MEP said: "One-sided support for the opposition in Ukraine makes it impossible for the European Union and its members to act as a mediator and push for both sides to come to a political solution. The EU should use its political and diplomatic weight to bring all parties who are interested in a peaceful solution to the table - a matter of urgency given the on-going violence."
